Efforts are continuing to identify the body of a woman found on the coast in south Galway, but Gardaí are treating it is a personal tragedy.
The remains of woman were found on the coastline by a person out walking at Doorus, north of Kinvara at approximately 11:30am on Tuesday.
The coroner and state pathologist were both notified yesterday, and a post-mortem has since been carried out, but the woman has not yet been identified.
A statement from Gardaí to Galway Daily said “The post mortem has concluded today, Wednesday September 22, 2021 in this matter and An Garda Síochána are treating this as a personal tragedy.”
“No further information is available at this time as to identity, but efforts are underway to establish this.”
