The GRETB has been given approval by the city council for an expansion of its Training Centre in Mervue.
Planning permission has been granted to the GRETB for the conversion of an industrial unit at Mervue Business Park to educational use.
The plans are for Unit 108B, Mervue Business and Technology Park, where the existing Training Centre is located in Units 105 – 108.
The GRETB intends to convert this new unit to include a webinar room, green screen/VR room, podcast suite, a small office, and a larger open plan learning space.
Approval was also sought in this application for the retention of the existing storage shed and bike shelter at the north eastern end of the unit, and the addition of new doors and windows.
Planning permission was granted by Galway City Council with a total of eight conditions attached.
