A total of €56,000 has been allocated for flood relief works at Eskerboy, between Killimor and Mullagh.
The funding will support the ongoing work to tackle flooding at all levels in the county, East Galway TD Ciaran Cannon has said.
Commenting yesterday, Minister Cannon said: “I’m very pleased with the news that Minister Kevin Boxer Moran and the OPW have allocated €57,000 for flood relief works at Eskerboy.
“I understand that the funding will support installing a new drainage system which will upgrade an outmoded form of drainage, will be very welcome by local residents and this grant will support the ongoing work to tackle flooding at all levels in the county.
“Minister Moran has been especially supportive in this process in East Galway and I am continuing to engage with him and his office to find solutions and secure the necessary funding to ensure we further alleviate these issues to the benefit of local communities and economies.”
