Cllr Dr Evelyn Parsons has received clarification from Galway County Council that the current opening times for Dunlo Recreational Track in Ballinasloe are as follows:
Monday: 10.00 am to 8.00 pm
Tuesday: 10.00 am to 5.00 pm
Wednesday: 10.00 am to 8.00 pm
Thursday: 10.00 am to 5.00 pm
Friday: 10.00 am to 8.00 pm
Saturday: 10.00 am to 5.00 pm
Sunday: CLOSED
Bank and Public Holidays: CLOSED
Cllr Parsons said that she is currently in discussions about providing clearer signage.
“This superb public amenity is located close to Portiuncula University Hospital, and comprises of a 6-lane 400m oval, with an 8-lane 100m sprint lane, and also an outdoor gym,” she said.
“Hand sanitizers are located exteriorly on the service block and users are reminded to comply with public health guidelines with regard to hygiene and distancing.
The track system is constructed in accordance with IAAF Guidelines and the opportunity to exercise here is greatly valued by young and old in Ballinasloe’s community and more so than ever now during this period of restricted travel distances.”
