The Revenue Commissioners have warned of fresh scams seen lately where fraudsters claim to be from the Revenue.
The scams involve people sending texts that claim to come from the Revenue seeking people’s personal information.
The Revenue is reminding people that it never sends emails or text messages that require people to send personal information via email, over the phone, or through pop-up windows.
Anyone who receives such a message should delete simply delete it.
If you are actually awaiting a tax refund, the advice is to contact your local Revenue Office to check on its status.
Anyone who provided personal information in response to these fraudulent emails or text messages should contact their bank or credit card company immediately.
