Three men were arrested in Galway today in connection with an armed robbery at a store on Monday morning.
At approximately 6.40am on Monday morning three men entered a convenience store in Ferbane, Co. Offaly armed with a number of weapons.
The robbers forced two female staff members to hand over a quantity of cigarettes, alcohol and cash.
The men left the scene in a dark coloured vehicle. Neither of the staff members required medical attention after the armed robbery.
In follow up searches today, all three men, aged 19, 20 and 26 years old, were arrested in Galway.
They are all currently detained under Section 50 Criminal Justice Act, 2007 in Garda stations across the midlands of the country.
Gardai say that the investigation is ongoing.
