On the spot fines for a number of parking offences have doubled as of the start of this month, with new regulations in effect.
The Minister for Transport, Eamon Ryan gave nitixe last December that Fixed Charge Notices were to go up for the following offences:
- Parking a vehicle on a footpath, a grass margin or a median strip.
- Parking a vehicle in a cycle track where traffic sign number RUS 009, RUS 058 or RUS 059 is provided.
- Parking a vehicle in a bus lane or on a bus only street.
The fines for these offences have doubled from €40 to €80, rising to €120 if not paid within 28 day.
These new rules have come into effect as if February 1.
