A new Chief Superintendent has been assigned to the Galway Garda Division, as part of a large number of appointments confirmed today.
Chief Superintendent Gerard Roche has been assigned to take over the Galway Garda Division from next month.
Roche’s transfer to Galway will see him assume responsibility on the retirement of Chief Superintendent Curley in early November.
A number of Superintendents have also been assigned within the Galway Garda Division, in line with the Garda Operating Model.
These appointments are:

Superintendent Damien Flanagan, Gaillimh Garda Station, responsibility for the Galway City Community Engagement Functional Area.

Superintendent Patrick OāShea, Oranmore Garda Station, responsibility for the Galway West Community Engagement Functional Area.

Superintendent Aiden Foley, Ballinasloe Garda Station, responsibility for the Galway East Community Engagement Functional Area.

Superintendent Sean Glynn, North Western Region HQ, responsibility for the Galway Performance Assurance Functional Area.

D/Superintendent Shane Cummins, North Western Region HQ, responsibility for the Galway Crime Functional Area.
