Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a brazen assault in Eyre Square, which occurred with large numbers of people nearby.
Last Friday, December 17 a man was walking along the top of Eyre Square when it is alleged he was assaulted by another man.
The attacker is described as a man in his 20s, who was wearing all dark clothing clothing during the assault.
In a statement to Galway Daily Gardaí said “There were a large number of people in Eyre Square area at the time at the Christmas Market and Gardaí are anxious to speak with anyone may have witnesses the altercation between the males or the alleged assault taking place.”
“We are further appealing to any motorists particularly taxi drivers who may have been in the area and may have captured the incident on dash-cam to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.”
