Another man has been arrested today as part of an ongoing investigation into organised crime activities in Connacht.
Gardaà in Sligo arrested a man on Wednesday in connection with the investigation into criminal activities in the area.
The man, aged in his early 40s, is currently being detained at Sligo Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.
This is the fourth person who has been arrested in connection with the organised crime investigation in the Sligo/Leitrim Division.
Gardaà arrested a man in his mid-30s at Dublin Airport on Tuesday, January 11, and this man was later charged and appeared before the courts.
Two others, a man and a woman, were also arrested on January 18 and February 20 as part of the investigation.
One of these, a man in his 20s, was arrested in Galway before being detained in Sligo.
Both were later released without charge and files are being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
