Gardaí have arrested two men in connection with thefts from businesses in multiple counties, including Galway, by an organised crime gang this summer.
Gardaí have been investigating a gang of criminals which is believed to be responsible for thefts from retail premises in Galway, Dublin, Wicklow, Meath, and Kilkenny.
The string of thefts took place over the course of six weeks in July and August this year.
As part of this investigation, Gardaí searched a property in Straffan, Co. Kildare, on Monday, recovering multiple items believed to be stolen.
Two men, one in his 20s and the other in his 30s, were arrested at the scene.
Both men are currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Blackrock Garda station.
A third man in his 30s was also arrested back on July 27 in connection with this organised crime gang.
He was charged and appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Tuesday, July 28.
