There has been an outpouring of anger at severe criminal damage done to local GAA facilities in Moylough which saw a lot of damage in the stand and dressing rooms.

Gardaí are investigating the criminal damage incident at Moylough Sportsfield, which is believed to between 9am on Saturday, and 8:15pm on Sunday.

The Moylough Sportsfield Committee is urging anyone who might have information on this to report it to the gardaí.

“This is a Community Sportsfield and playground. It is paid for, maintained and run by our community.

“The committee are currently levelling and re-seeding the pitches at huge expense so the members of our community have top class facilities to play sports on.

“It is unbelievable that a person or persons would carry out such a mindless act on Community facilities.”

Some of the images of the destruction in the stands shared by Mountbellew Moylough GAA Club also seem to show that people had been drinking there.

DO THE RIGHT THING AND REPORT TO THE GARDAÍ IF YOU KNOW WHO MIGHT BE RESPONSIBLE. THIS IS YOUR COMMUNITY…PROTECT…
