The opening hours for walk-in booster shot vaccination clinics in Galway City for people aged 40 and over have been extended this week.

The Saolta Group is running daily walk-in clinics at Ballybrit Racecourse this week right up to Christmas Eve.

These were originally scheduled to last from 8:30am to 2:30pm each day, but most have now been extended to last until 6pm.

On Christmas Eve, the clinic will still only run from 8:30am to 12:30pm.

To be eligible for a booster vaccine, you must have reached the interval of at least 90 days since your second dose vaccine or single dose Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine.

Anyone who has had COVID-19 since their previous vaccination should wait to get their booster dose at least 6 months after the positive test result.

Updates on waiting times each day will be provided through the HSE’s twitter feed at @HSELive.
