Walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics are open again in Galway City for the next three days.

From Friday to Sunday, people who have yet to be fully vaccinated will be able to go to the  Ballybrit Racecourse centre to receive their first of second jab without an appointment.

The clinics running in Galway this weekend are only for people getting the Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccines.

Today’s clinic, running from 1pm to 7pm, is solely for people getting their first or second Pfizer shot, as will be the case on Sunday.

On Saturday, a clinic will be running specifically for people looking to get their second shot of Moderna.

These clinics are open to anyone aged 12 years or older, as long as teenagers bring a parent or guardian to confirm they have parental consent.

Someone getting their second dose will need to bring a record of vaccination to ensure that long enough has passed between jabs.

The schedule of walk-in clinics running in Galway this week is:

  • Friday 10 September: 1pm to 7pm. Pfizer dose 1 and 2
  • Saturday 11 September: 8.30 am to 12.30pm. Moderna dose 2 only
  • Sunday 12 September: 8.30am to 4pm. Pfizer dose 1 and 2
