There are now 52 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Galway’s public hospitals as of Monday night.
The number of people hospitalised nationally with the disease also continues to rise, with 843 people with the virus receiving treatment at 8pm yesterday, up from 758 on Sunday evening.
The latest HSE data shows University Hospital Galway has 36 confirmed cases, while Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe has 16.
Nine of the 52 cases are in ICU – six at UHG and three at Portiuncula Hospital.
There were 10 general beds available at UHG at 8pm on Monday, but none st Portiuncula.
