Galway daily news COVID-19 cases more than double at UHG

There are no COVID-19 patients being treated in Galway’s intensive care units in the latest HSE figures.

As of Tuesday evening there were no confirmed cases in the ICU at either Portiuncula Hospital, or UHG.

This is two days in a row with zero cases in the ICU in Ballinasloe, and down from one at University Hospital Galway the previous day.

Overall there are 22 COVID patients hospitalised in Galway, 19 at UHG and three at Portiuncula Hospital.

This is four fewer cases than on Monday night, a decrease of three at UHG and one at Portiuncula.

Nationwide there were 396 people in hospital with the virus as of Monday night, of whom 102 have been admitted to ICUs.
