There are 43 people in Galway who have been admitted to hospital with COVID-19 in the latest figures from the HSE.
As of Saturday night there were 36 confirmed cases at UHG, and a further seven at Portiuncula Hospital.
This is an increase of five patients at UHG in a single day, and eleven higher than a week ago, while numbers at Portiuncula have more than doubled in the past week.
There are four COVID patients at University Hospital Galway in the ICU, and one at Portiuncula Hospital.
Nationwide there are 435 people hospitalised with the disease, of whom 71 have been admitted to intensive care units for treatment.
There were a further 2,180 cases reported in Ireland yesterday, the second day in a week with over 2k daily cases.
