The two-week incidence rate of COVID-19 in the Galway City Central electoral area is the highest in the county with 119.8 cases per 100,000 people.
But all of the other Local Electoral Areas in Co. Galway had incidence rates below the national average which was 117.7 when the data was taken this week.
Galway City West has the second highest rate in the county at 114 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days, while the rate in both Galway City East and Athenry-Oranmore stands at 94.
Ballinasloe has the lowest rate in the county, with 18 cases per 100,000 people. Just five cases were reported there in the two weeks to 5 July.
Conamara North’s rate now stands at 64 and Conamara South’s rate is 47.
The rate in Gort-Kinvara is 60 cases per 100,000 people, and Tuam’s incidence rate is 48 as of 5 July.
