The number of COVID-19 patients receiving care in Galway’s public hospitals has risen by one in the latest HSE data.
As of 8pm on Tuesday, there are 11 people with the disease at University Hospital Galway and a further three cases at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.
Two of the confirmed cases at UHG are in the intensive care unit, while the one patient with the disease at Portiuncula Hospital is in ICU as of Tuesday evening.
The Department of Health reported 1,499 new cases of COVID-19 in the State yesterday afternoon.
