The number of people with COVID-19 receiving care in ICU in Galway hospitals has risen to four.
All four patients in ICU are at University Hospital Galway and there is a total of eight confirmed cases at the hospital as of yesterday evening.
At Portiuncula University Hospital, there are currently four people who have been diagnosed with the disease.
There are 17 beds available across the Galway hospitals, but only one is at Portiuncula.
Six beds are available in the critical care unit at UHG while at Portiuncula there are no ICU beds free.
A total of 274 people are in hospitals across Ireland this morning. As of yesterday evening, 64 are in intensive care units.
