The number of COVID-19 patients at UHG has continued to increase, with 19 confirmed cases in the latest figures.

The number of COVID patients at UHG is up four from the previous day’s figures, and seven higher than the start of the month.

Four of the patients at University Hospital Galway have been been admitted to the intensive care unit for treatment.

At Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe, the number of COVID patients has remained steady at two in recent days. Neither of these patients is currently in the intensive care unit there.

Nationwide, there were 351 people in Ireland hospitalised with COVID-19 as of Thursday night, of whom 69 are in the ICU.
