The number of people in Galway hospitalised with COVID-19 has declined slightly, while ICU admissions for the disease remain unchanged.
There were 27 confirmed cases in Galway’s hospitals as of Tuesday evening, 20 at UHG and seven at Portiuncula Hospital.
This is two fewer than the previous day at University Hospital Galway, and a decline of one patient in Ballinasloe.
The number of COVID patients being treated in ICUs remains unchanged at five, though UHG has one more patient, and Portiuncula one fewer.
Intensive Care Units in Galway have not seen any real shift in the number of COVID patients in the past week.
The latest figures from the HSE show that there were two ICU beds free at each of Galway’s acute hospitals as of Tuesday morning.
Nationwide there were a total of 561 confirmed cases of the disease in Irish hospitals, of whom 122 have been admitted to ICUs.
