The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Galway’s public hospitals has risen to 16, the latest HSE figures show.
University Hospital Galway has the third highest number of cases in the Republic with 12, while Portiuncula Hospital has four confirmed cases.
Two of the 12 COVID cases at UHG are in the intensive care unit as of yesterday evening.
Nationally, there are 142 people with the virus in hospital as of 8am today – an increase of one since yesterday morning. Of the confirmed cases in hospital, 27 are in ICU.
Letterkenny University Hospital has the highest number of confirmed cases in critical care with four.
