Galway Daily news 25 percent drop in COVID cases in Galway hospitals

There have been 11,182 cases of COVID-19 reported by the Department of Health today.

As of this morning there were 393 people in the country hospitalised with the virus, of whom 89 are in the ICU.

The Omicron variant has become extremely dominant in Ireland, with the Department saying that it is now responsible for an estimated 83% of cases.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said that people should try and only meet with members of their own households in the next two to three weeks.
