The number of patients in hospital with COVID-19 in Galway, as well as those admitted to the ICU, has increased in the latest HSE figures.
As of 8pm on Tuesday there were a total of 35 confirmed cases in Galway’s Hospitals, of whom 11 are in the ICU.
At University Hospital Galway there were 31 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of whom 9 were in Intensive Care.
Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe only had four known cases, but half of them are in the ICU.
There was also just one suspected case at UHG for which test results were being awaited.
Nationwide there were 813 confirmed cases in Irish hospitals as of Tuesday night, with 151 patients in Critical Care.
There were a further four deaths reported among patients in Critical Care in the 24 hours prior.
There were a further 77 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Galway yesterday, the second highest level in the country for the fourth day in a row.
