Galway Daily news 25 percent drop in COVID cases in Galway hospitals

There have been a further 1,758 cases of COVID-19 in the state reported by the Department of Health today.

As of this morning there were 248 people in the country hospitalised with COVID.

Of these, 48 patients are in serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

Daily case numbers reported today may change in the future after data validation and review.

The mass vaccination centre at Clifden Community School will be closing next week.

Anyone who got their first dose there and is due for a second shot will get an appointment at the Ballybrit Racecourse centre.

Dr Ronan Glynn said that with the current high incidence rates, people should continue to exercise caution, even if fully vaccinated.
