The Department of Health has today reported a further 1,207 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the State.
As of 8am today, 355 people with the disease are hospitalised in Ireland, of whom 69 are in ICU.
The five day moving average for coronavirus cases nationally is 1,052.
The number of patients hospitalised with COVID-19 in Galway has increased to 16 in the latest figures from the HSE.
On Wednesday night there were 15 confirmed cases at University Hospital Galway, up from 12 at the start of the week.
