There have been a further 1,144 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland reported by the Department of Health today.
As of this morning there were 384 people in hospital with COVID in Ireland.
Of these patients, 59 people have been admitted to the intensive care unit.
It is expected that the country will this week pass the milestone of 7 million doses of vaccine administered.
Health Minister Stephen Donnelly said that this is an “amazing achievement” both for the staff and volunteers who run the system, and the people who came forward to be vaccination.
