Five more people have died after being diagnosed with the coronavirus in the Republic of Ireland, taking the number COVID-19 related deaths in the state to 1,695.
The HSE has also been notified of a further 21 cases, which means a total of 25,231 people have tested positive for the disease.
The number of cases in Galway has not risen in today’s figures which were taken at midnight on Monday. There have been just two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county since a week ago.
Galway continues to have just 1.9% of all cases in the Republic.
