There have only been five cases of COVID-19 confirmed in all of Galway city and county this month according to HPSC figures.
Today’s data from the Department of Health shows that there have only been 485 cases of COVID-19 in Galway, up just seven from 478 at the end of May.
It has now been 16 days since there has last been a new case confirmed on June 14.
The total figure in Galway peaked at 486 at that point, but one case was later taken off the tally after validation of data by the HPSC.
In total, Ireland has now had 1,736 deaths related to the virus, and a total of 25,473 confirmed cases.
Today there was one death and 11 new cases reported to the Department of Health.
