Health officials have reported eight further deaths related to Covid-19 today and 329 new cases of the disease.

Galway has fewer than five of the 329 the new cases, while  86 are in Dublin, 41 in Louth, 34 in Donegal, 25 in Limerick and 17 in Kildare.

The 14-day incidence rate in Galway has now fallen to 48.4 cases per 100,000 population, with just 125 new cases reported in the city and county over the past fortnight.

Of the cases reported today, 64% are under 45 years of age and the median age is 37 years old.

As of 2pm, 196 people with Covid-19 are hospitalised, of which 31 are in ICU. There have been 13 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

There has now been a total of 76,776 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state.
