The number of people in hospital with COVID-19 in Galway has increased to seven according to the latest figures.
Data from the HSE shows that as of 8pm on Saturday there were six confirmed cases at University Hospital Galway, along with one of Portiuncula Hospital.
Of the confirmed cases at University Hospital Galway, one patient is in Intensive Care.
There are a further four suspected cases at UHG, and two at Portiuncula. One of the suspected cases at Portiuncula is in the ICU.
Nationwide there are a total of 233 confirmed cases in Irish hospitals, 28 of whom are in Intensive Care. There are 17 confirmed COVID patients who are on ventilators.
Galway saw less than five new cases reported yesterday, out of 456 nationwide.
