939 new cases of COVID-19 were reported by the Department of Health today as well as three further deaths related to the virus.
Of the cases reported today, 53 are in Galway, which is the fourth worst affected county after Dublin, Cork and Meath.
The median age of today’s cases is 32 years, and 66% are under the age of 45.
There has now been a total of 58,067 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Republic and over 2,000 have been in Galway.
