The Department of Health has reported one death related to COVID-19 today, along with 24 new confirmed cases.
There have now been a total of 25,869 confirmed cases in the Republic of Ireland, and the pandemic has claimed 1,764 lives in the state.
In Galway there have been 493 confirmed cases as of midnight on Thursday, July 23, and increase of one case on what was reported yesterday.
