The number of people in hospital with COVID-19 in Galway has remained steady at the start of this week, with just one more patient receiving treatment on Monday evening than on Halloween night.
There are 26 COVID-19 patients at University Hospital Galway as of 8pm on Monday evening, with four of those in the intensive care unit.
One of the eight confirmed cases at Portiuncula Hospital is also in ICU.
At 8am this morning there were 493 COVID-19 patients in hospitals nationally, of whom 91 were in ICU.
Health officials reported 2,855 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the State yesterday evening.
