Portiuncula Hospital has now gone three days in a row with no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at the hospital.
In the latest figures from the HSE there are just six people hospitalised in Galway as of Thursday night, all of them at UHG,
Of the patients at University Hospital Galway, four of them are in the Intensive Care Unit.
There were a further two suspected cases at UHG, and one at Portiuncula, for which test results were being awaited.
Portiuncula is one of just three acute hospitals in the country which has no patients with COVID-19, the others being Temple Street and Crumlin in Dublin.
Nationwide there were 341 people hospitalised with COVID-19 in Ireland as of 8pm Thursday, of whom 87 were in the ICU.
An additional 28 new cases were reported in Galway yesterday, out of 592 in the country.
