COVID-19: Sharp decline in cases at UHG

There has been a sharp decline in the number of people hospitalised with COVID-19 at University Hospital Galway.

The latest HSE figures show that there were three confirmed cases hospitalised at University Hospital Galway as of Sunday evening.

This is a significant decrease from a steady level of six or seven cases which have been present at UHG so far this month.

There is one confirmed case at Portiuncula University Hospital in Ballinasloe.

Two of the three patients at University Hospital Galway are in the Intensive Care Unit.

Nationwide there were 116 people being treated for COVID-19 in Irish hospitals as of Sunday evening, of whom 31 were in the ICU.
