No new deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported by the Department of Health today, but 582 new cases have been notified.
Of the cases reported today 41 are in Galway, the second highest figure in the country behind Dublin (262).
The county’s 14-day incidence rate now stands at 124.4 cases per 100,000 people, with 321 cases here in the past two weeks.
There were 345 people hospitalised with COVID-19 in Ireland as of this morning, of whom 83 were in the ICU.
There have now been a total of 228,796 confirmed cases in Ireland, and 4,566 deaths related to the disease.
