COVID-19: Just 10 patients hospitalised in Galway

There are just ten people in Galway hospitalised with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the latest figures from the HSE.

As of Sunday night there were just eight confirmed cases at UHG, and two at Portiuncula Hospital.

This is one patient fewer than were hospitalised at University Hospital Galway the day before.

There were a further two suspected hospital cases each in Galway City and Ballinasloe for which test results were being awaited.

The number of critically patients in the ICU remains steady, with two at UHG and none in intensive care at Portiuncula.

Nationwide there were 420 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Irish hospitals as of 8pm Sunday, of whom 103 were in intensive care.

A further 18 new cases were reported in Galway yesterday, out of 525 cases reported nationwide.

Three additional deaths related to the disease were also notified, but just one of those was known to have occurred in March.
