The number of people hospitalised with COVID-19 in Galway has remained steady, while the number of patients in the ICU has increased slightly.
As of Monday night there were 10 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Galway’s acute hospitals, unchanged from the two previous days.
University Hospital Galway reported six confirmed cases, and there were four cases at Portiuncula Hospital.
The number of COVID patients in Intensive Care at Portiuncula has increased to two. UHG reports five patients in the ICU, the same as the day before.
The number of suspected cases in Galway also remained unchanged with three at UHG and two in Ballinasloe.
Nationwide there were 175 people hospitalised with the disease in Ireland as of last night, of whom 48 were in the ICU.
A further 14 new cases were reported in Galway yesterday, out of 403 nationwide.
