Another 28 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Galway today, out of 474 cases nationwide.

The 14-day incidence rate in Galway is now 86.8 cases per 100,000 people, with 224 cases reported in the county in the past two weeks.

Another three deaths related to COVID-19 have also been notified by health officials today,

The median age of the people in today’s cases is 32 years old, and 71% of cases are in people under the age of 45.

There were 155 people in hospital with COVID-19 as of 8am this morning, of whom 44 were in Intensive Care.

The government has announced today the plans for the easing of lockdown measures in stages over the course of May and June.
