Communities in Galway are being urged to have their paperwork at the ready ahead of the launch of this year’s Town and Village Renewal Scheme.
The scheme is currently being finalised and is expected to be launched shortly.
Almost €53 million has been approved for more than 670 projects across the country since its introduction in 2016.
Many Galway projects have benefited from the scheme, which has funded the the restoration of the iconic Railway Station in ballyglunin in 2017, enhancements around the lake in Loughrea and the development of food culture tourist experience in athenry through Bia Blas.
Minister Cannon said that he urges communities in Galway to have their paperwork done in advance and at the ready to avail of the scheme which has an allocation of €15m in this year’s Budget.
