Galway Daily news 2.6km of aging water mains in Kinvara to be replaced

People living in the Claddagh area may lose their water supply during today as Irish Water is carrying out repairs to the water network in the area.

Irish Water are carrying out mains repair works on Grattan Road and at Grattan Park in the Claddagh today.

The repair works are part of the National Leaks Reduction programme to cut down on the amount of water lost to leaky pipes.

Work on Grattan road is expected to be completed by 4pm, while repairs in Grattan Park are estimated to take a bit longer to complete, finishing up at 4:30pm.

Residents of Grattan Road and Park, and the surrounding areas of Galway city, may experience a drop in water pressure of a loss of supply while repair works are being carried out.

Residents are advised that it may take two to three hours after repairs are completed for full water supply to return.
