A street in the Claddagh will be closing for just under two weeks of roadworks starting from next week.
Galway city council has ordered Fairhill Road Upper closed from the junction with St. Ignatius Terrace to the Grattan Road junction while Irish Water carries out roadworks.
The road closure will be in place from 8am to 6pm dail from Monday, July 8 through to Friday, July 19 inclusive.
An alternative route is available via Fr. Burke Road and St. Ignatius Terrace and vice-versa.
Irish Water are laying new water distribution mains in the area of the city over the coming months.
More rolling closures will follow along Fr Burke Road and School Avenue throughout July and August to allow work to take place.
