Newcastle road in Galway City will be closing overnight in order to allow for repair works to a burst watermain.
The city council has ordered the road closed from between the junctions with Costello and St. Mary’s roads.
The closure will be in place from 8pm on Thursday until 6am on Friday morning. It follows a similar closure last night to allow these works to take place.
Alternative routes for motor traffic in the area of NUI Galway will be signposted during this work.
“An alternative route is available via Shantalla, St Enda’s and Costello roads a spokesperson for the city council said.
“Local access will be maintained at all times. Advance diversion signage will be in place prior to work commencing.”
