Galway City Council will host its 2022 Hazardous Waste Disposal Day next Saturday, 10 September at Galway Racecourse in Ballybrit.
The event is only open to householders in the city and only those who register online will be allowed to enter.
The waste disposal day will take place from 8.30am to 3.30 pm and people can register through galwaycity.ie/haz-waste.
The only items which will be accepted are paint and paint cans, adhesives, old medicines, pesticides, insecticides, herbicides and aerosols.
Galway City Council has reminded householders that water based paint is not hazardous waste as people can simply to let the paint harden before putting it in their landfill bin.
