City centre street closed for two weeks from today

Middle Street in Galway City Centre will be closed for the next two weeks from this morning in order to allow works to take place.

Galway City Council has ordered the city centre street closed in order to allow the carriageway to be excavated so that a 90mm gas main can be laid down.

The road will be shut between its junctions with Cross Street and Abbeygate street until 6pm on Sunday, November 17.

Some traffic disruption is expected and alternative routes will be signposted for the duration of these works.

While work is underway the direction of traffic on the adjacent St. Augustine Street will be reversed.
