A Loughrea businessman’s annual Christmas Lights display at his home raised more than €3,000 for Galway Hospice this year.
Kevin Touhy has been creating a marvelous display of lights in his garden for many years now, and in recent years has been using it to raise money for charity.
Last Christmas he and his family chose to raise money for our local hospice, and took in a staggering €3,040 for the essential charity.
Declan and Chloe Treacy were present at the presentation of the money to the hospice, as the funds were raised in memory of Shane Treacy.

“The effort Kevin and his family go to each year is exceptional. Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraiser,” the hospice said on facebook.
Galway Hospice is the main provider of palliative care in the city and county, through at home visits and in patient care at its Renmore facilities.
It is also heavily reliant on private donations to continue providing care for the most vulnerable people in society.
