Freudenberg Medical has announced that 100 new jobs are being created at their manufacturing facility in Spiddal, with recruitment already underway.
Chief Executive of the Freudenberg Group, Dr. Mohsen Sohi is officially opening the newly developed manufacturing facility today alongside Minister Simon Coveney.
This facility represents a total investment of over €2 million by Údarás na Gaeltachta. The new facility will increase the medical device company’s manufacturing footprint in Spidéal by 50%.
It will enable them to increase the productivity of the company and the workforce in An Spidéal by 25%.
It is expected that 400 people will be working for Freudenberg Medical in its Galway base within the next eighteen months.

New positions will be created in engineering, research and development, manufacturing and quality and support services.
The company have stated that recruitment for the newly announced positions at Freudenberg Medical is already underway.
Minister Simon Coveney is visiting a number of companies in Galway today, with multiple jobs announcements made from expansions.
Cybersecurity company TitanHQ is creating 67 new jobs in Galway as it expands its operations, and IT services provider Nostra is adding 35 jobs at a new office in Ballybrit.
