A man has appeared in court this evening charged with the murder of 23-year-olf Ashling Murphy.
Jozef Puska (31) with an address at Lynally Grove, Mucklagh, Tullamore, was brought before a special sitting of Tullamore District Court at 8.15pm.
He was remanded in custody for a week and will appear at Clover Hill District Court on 26 January.
Puska, a Slovakian national, was taken from Dublin to Tullamore Garda station on Tuesday morning for questioning and had been detained there under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The legislation allowed for the man to be questioned for up to 24 hours without charge, and Gardaà used almost all of that time before charging the suspect this evening.
The second man who was arrested has been released without charge from Garda custody today, and a file will be prepared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
